For all our buildings, we require a flat and level surface. For mobile field shelters or mobile stables, you may consider installing this on grass or hardcore. For fixed stables, shelters, American barns, L Shapes and timber workshops we require a concrete base and highly advise a single course of semi-engineering bricks. We will send over a floor plan along with a brick course plan once a deposit has been paid so that you can install the base ready for our arrival.
Once your order has been confirmed our office team will arrange a suitable date for you.
Yes, you are more than welcome to view a selection of buildings in Bristol and visit our workshop in Avonmouth. Please contact us if you would like us to arrange a viewing.
We recommend that you treat your building after installation with a clear water shield to protect the timbers against the elements. Although all timbers are pressure treated, this increased the longevity of the building.
Unfortunately not, we ask you to contact local trusted builders and groundsmen. We are able to provide you with the concrete specification and supply a brick course plans once a deposit has been made.
At Hunter Stables we offer elevation plans for all our standard buildings, free of charge. All we ask is that you have a finalised quote with us to ensure that the elevation plans match your dream yard. If you would like a bespoke building we would be more than happy to get the elevations drawn up for you for a small fee (depending on size and complexity). Please contact us for more information.
For our temporary mobile structures planning permission is not ‘normally’ required however there may be restrictions within Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty or conservation areas. You will need planning permission to install a permanent building, add an extension to a building and change of use. If you are unsure, we strongly recommend seeking advice from your local planning office before placing your order.
Mobile includes skids, fixed includes concrete bolts. Our mobile shelters come with timber 4×4 skids, that run parallel on the front and back of the building. These act as ski’s to make the building moveable when towed. Our fixed shelters include concrete bolts to bolt the frame to a permanent base. If you wish to keep the timber skids and have the building bolted to the concrete base we do apply a surcharge for this.
