Product Overview
NAF Crib Stop Spray 750ml is a long-lasting, unpleasant-tasting spray designed to discourage horses and ponies from unwanted biting, nibbling, chewing and cribbing behaviour. Its water-repellent formula helps protect suitable surfaces around the stable and yard.
Horses may chew stable fittings, wooden surfaces or equipment for several reasons. For example, boredom, frustration and natural exploratory behaviour can all contribute to unwanted chewing. Therefore, a taste-deterrent spray can provide an additional practical measure alongside suitable management.
The formula creates an unpleasant taste on treated surfaces, helping discourage repeated contact. In addition, its water-repellent properties make it useful in areas exposed to changing weather conditions.
Whether used around the stable or on suitable yard surfaces, this convenient 750ml trigger spray allows straightforward application where protection is needed.

When To Use Crib Stop
NAF Crib Stop Spray can be useful wherever a horse regularly bites or chews suitable surfaces. For instance, owners may use a taste deterrent on stable fixtures or other surfaces vulnerable to unwanted chewing.
Because the product is water-repellent, it offers practical protection in everyday yard environments. Nevertheless, heavy rain can affect the application, so additional treatment may be necessary.
For best results, identify the areas where chewing occurs and apply the spray according to the manufacturer’s directions.
Directions For Use
Spray liberally onto the required surface, ensuring suitable coverage of the area you wish to protect.
Reapply whenever necessary, particularly after heavy rain.
Patch Test: If staining or marking is a concern, test the spray on a small, inconspicuous area before treating the entire surface.
Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions and check that the surface is suitable before application.
Managing Unwanted Chewing
Horses may develop unwanted chewing behaviours for a variety of reasons. Therefore, it is important to consider their wider environment as well as protecting vulnerable surfaces.
For example, sufficient forage, appropriate turnout, social contact and environmental enrichment can all form part of a good management routine.
Although a taste deterrent may discourage contact with treated surfaces, it does not address every underlying cause of chewing or stereotypic behaviour. Persistent cribbing or unusual chewing should therefore prompt a review of the horse’s management and welfare, with veterinary advice where appropriate.
Practical Stable And Yard Protection
Maintaining a safe and well-managed stable environment requires regular attention to fittings, equipment and everyday horse behaviour. As a result, protecting vulnerable surfaces can form one part of an effective yard maintenance routine.
NAF Crib Stop Spray 750ml provides an easy-to-apply, unpleasant-tasting deterrent that helps discourage unwanted chewing and nibbling. Combined with appropriate horse management, it offers a practical option for protecting suitable stable and yard surfaces.
