Let’s Talk About Galvanised Skids
Galvanised metal skids are a great additional extra for our mobile stables, shelters and timber workshops up to 36′. They offer strength, versatility, corrosion resistance and provides protection to the buildings framework.
Understanding Galvanised Skids
Metal skids are metal structure made out of steel that has undergone a galvanisation process. Galvanisation involves coating steel with a layer of zinc to protect from corrosion, making it highly resilient to harsh environmental conditions. These include moisture, chemicals and different temperatures. This process enhances the longevity of the skid but also fortifies it against wear and tear, making this a good addition if you wish to move the building frequently.
Consequently, this expands the lifespan of the building and skids.
Cost Effectiveness
Galvanised skids do have a higher upfront cost compared to our timber skids. However they are superior and offer extended lifespan. Additionally, they do have hook eyes to ensure that chains can be attached in order to move the building.
Metal skids can be used to protect the framework on non-mobile buildings, please ask our office team about this!
